Blood In The Shadow.

Contributed by cashfan1 on Monday, 11th April 2011 @ 05:21:47 AM in AEST
Topic: mystical

Now that blood is flowing
Through the veins of my shadow
I criss cross the hills of my life.
Blinded by an unfaithful moon, dismissed by yesterday,
Uncared for by today, unaccounted for my tomorrow,
I wander on in a loneliness of my own making.
Climbing higher I pass the silly, filthy, oily sheep
Who crop the hillside of their dreams.
Upwards and beyond along a path of spiteful gorse
Where the clandestine stars gather,
And there under the horizon
The small town murmurs in fitful slumber.
So here I am, alone with the hillside,
Humbled by the coy glance of the moons infidelity,
Pitied by the whispering, nudging stars.
I open my eyes and stand before my own image,
Condemmed by my own shadow.
