Even though you’re not birth family,
I love you like you were.
So please let me adopt you,
And we’ll settle it for sure.
I hope you know I love you true
In good times and in bad.
When things aren’t going well for you,
Don’t you know I’m also sad?
I hope your children can look at me,
In some ways like a dad.
If they could place some trust in me,
That would sure make this man glad.
Since under my skin,
In my heart you all grow,
There is a sure thing,
I want you all to know.
I will not desert you.
I won’t walk away.
I’ll love you more tomorrow,
Than every yesterday!
As of this very moment,
You’ll have the exact same worth,
As if I held your mothers hand
The moment of your birth!
