There was a day not long ago
Though each day that passes seem like ten
A day that we were together
When I gazed in to your eyes as deep as the ocean
Where I saw your gorgeous smile
A day when I could actually see you, touch you, feel you
I wished time could stand still
But it would not
It was over too fast
Almost like a dream
I can still feel your lips on mine
Still taste your tongue
Feel your embrace
So it couldn’t be a dream could it?
I relive that day every day
Sometimes more than once
It was the best day in recent memory
In distant memory
I hold onto that day with great hope
Unrelenting eagerness
I hunger for another day like this
And many more
But if that would never be the case
I will remember and cherish it always
I will go to sleep at night with one thing on my mind
Knowing that no dream could match this reality
And that nothing can compare
To that day we shared a dream
That will never fade away
