Lost and Found

Contributed by Cancer on Saturday, 26th April 2003 @ 09:35:00 PM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

can you help me
i seem to have lost my mind
i was wondering if you might have it here
i've looked everywhere else
and if you don't have it
i'll never find it, i fear

my innocence is missing as well
hope, happiness, and tolerance have vanished too
have any of those come through?
they've all been gone so very long
if i don't find them soon
i might lose my patience too

and i can't keep track of my temper
everytime i find it, i just lose it again
perhaps it's best if it stays lost
i often feel like i'm lost, myself
if i could avoid that, i'd pay anything
no matter what the cost

i don't suppose you've seen my lost love either
no, i didn't figure you had
ran away some time ago, with some guy
old enough to be her dad

and what about all these "lost" people
the christians keep moaning about
between you and me, i don't think they're "lost" at all
maybe one day, the christians will figure that out

oh dear, now i've lost the will to live
i'll never find it i'm afraid
for as long as i can remember
it's been trying to slip away

well, i guess i'll just open this vein
and slip into Nothingness
it's all getting grey, but wait a minute
yes, i think i found my lost happiness
