Don't Break My Heart

Contributed by Sheveg on Saturday, 2nd April 2011 @ 04:16:32 PM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

I want to believe that it's not true what they say.
That you would never behave that way.
I've idolized you for more years than I can say.
I've been proud of you for the great football
player and man that you've been. Then I
hear things that I don't want to hear. I don't
want to believe. I feel sick when I think about
it. I ask god to tell me that it isn't true. That it
isn't you.
I still believe in you Brett, and hold you up high.
So, please don't tells me no lies.

It's difficult to be on either side of this scenario
We only know of each other what we want people to know
we all are weak at one point or another,
we all want some one to look up to at some point,
in the end we are all human, fragile and subject to break
but it's all written in the good book
that we shouldn't idolize one another,
(and this is one reason why)
save both sides some pain
well composed deeply felt and understood
I truly enjoyed reading this passage

Unfortunately, the people we idolize and the actual person behind the media are usually two different things completely.
