I'm allowing life to bring me down,
taking my smile, leaving a frown.
Wanting to laugh but life makes me cry.
Hating to live but not wanting to die.
Taking everything but my fears.
Leaving me to drown in my own tears.
Taking my days, making me dread the night.
Leaving me blinded to what once in sight.
I'm allowing life control me in a very wrong way.
I need to regain my life, starting today.

an interesting perspective. Line 8 seems a bit confusing. Perhaps you meant 'Leaving me blinded to what was once in sight." Sometimes it takes reaching the bottom before we can see just how down we are, and fess up the courage and strength to fight our way back out of the depression and disappointment. A thoughtful penning. tfs |
