Chasing Shadows

Contributed by northernlights on Friday, 1st April 2011 @ 04:27:34 PM in AEST
Topic: LostLove

Love’s elusive shadow,
Hands reach out in pain.
Endless voices echo,
Flesh against the rain.

Hidden voices whisper,
The ticking hands of time.
A cup to be held for a moment,
A warm and mellow wine.

A heart so full of longing,
No tender touch to miss.
As slowly flesh awakens,
To greet a lovers kiss.

Shadows pass to darkness,
A mask, revealing lust.
A satiated devil sneers!
As dreams turn to dust.

Sorrow whispers softly, as
yearning fills the heart.
The actress in life’s malady, ,
Declines to take a part.

Hi Anna,
Another fantastic write from you. This left me feeling decidedly melancholic as this is a subject I'm all to familiar with.

Yep yep, been there all too often. Good expression and nicely choreographed passages.

kept me interested and created visions in my minds eye.

There's a classic timelessness to your writting
this passage is flunently effortless
the manner in which this piece unfolds
is quite Shakesperian in that it's graceful yet dramatically so,
a true pleasure to read
