Nothingness

Contributed by NightOwl61 on Thursday, 31st March 2011 @ 04:49:36 PM in AEST
Topic: toughstuff

The wind taps against
The corners
Of the darkness
In my mind,
Breathing through
The Cobwebs
My shattered soul
Has left behind.

It seems nothing
Lasts forever,
Nothing has a choice
To appeal to now
Or never,
With its
Never-Present
Voice.

When the sun
In all its Glory
Seems just like
A fantasy,
Something ethereal
And aimless,
I question of its
Sanctity.

Lightning flashes
There to here,
And answers with a boom
That thuds and thunders
Carelessly
The darkness
Of this room.

And my
Little haunt
Waves echoes
With the whisper
Of the night,
The sound
Of hopeless
Reflection
Bathed within
The
Evenlight.

I hear
The Willow
Call out for you
Into the August rush,
And the stillness
Of this Never-Wind
Answers with a hush.

And I am left to wonder,
Your face upon my mind,
Torn fragments of my
Yet-To-Be
Left carelessly behind,

And I reach out
Into the darkness,
And see blue in the sky,
And reach again
To grasp
The elusive
Nightmare
That wanders by...

But all I see
Are shadows,
And I am left alone,
As something torn
And fractured,
The strands of
Everything
I own.,

And my mind
Scatters
So clumsily,
Into the rushing why,
Where I see darkling shadows,
Simply shadows
Wander by.

As though
They know
That I am here,
Within this dark
Abyss,
Reaching out
With hopeless
Wanderlust
Into their
Nothingness.

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
