abrupt

Topic: LostLove

She holds his hand so gently
the feeling is so warm
tears hid, but there are plenty
right now they just won't form
he hesitates so badly
she chokes upon her words
her face looks up so sadly
no longer bee's and birds
he pleads but she is steadfast
he says something to hurt
he can't believe it is past
so he dishes out the dirt
her hand lets go, he stutters
her fury now unleashed
the beauty puts up shutters
and turns into a beast
he stands up sharp and blisters.
The insult of this scene!
rehearsed with help of sisters
feels sick, it is obscene
her cool is lost how dare he!
React, this awful way
her mind made up so swiftly
"take you back! No way".
And so he leaves in tears
and she stands off so cold
to the pub he steers
no glitter and no gold
an argument later breaks
a victim at the bar
next morn her new love awakes
and puffs on a cigar...

Great storytelling, I couldn't keep my eyes off of it, wondering what was next. Everybody has either been in a situation like that, or knows someone who has. Great write!!

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
