On The 'Yeti' Trail

Contributed by ravi on Saturday, 26th April 2003 @ 03:05:00 PM in AEST
Topic: mystical

The misty,cold,rarified evening seemed to sarcastically mock,
at the tired explorers sitting on a rock.
The tantalizing surroundings seemed too mundane and common,
they have come to uncover the uncommon.

Resting and revitalizing over a comforting soothing drink,
they set out again ,daring and relentless,
for their priceless 'mink'.
Deep into the hard,rocky icy morass,
their eyes glittered like that of a love sick lass.
Not far above them,some mysterious eyes, glittered and shone,
taunting with a naughty impish glint;
leaving behind a bizarre print;
a large mammoth footprint.

As the explorers turned back sad and bore,
the 'Yeti' is nothing but an ancient folk lore,
the Yeti looked behind them creating a roaring boisterous din,
it has again managed to win.
Thumping vigourously from tasted victory,
it has escaped being chained and classified,
into man's tampered natural history.

Very good poem. I believe the Sasquatch (Yeti) is real they are just to smart to be captured. Once again I enjoyed your poem it could've gone on longer... Way to go.

your words pretty much narrow it down ravi, yet folk lore it may be to some, their still heaps of idioltic explorers trying to score some fame by catching the poor bugger.
Good write, look forward to more.
