How could this be?

Contributed by Shandra on Monday, 28th March 2011 @ 03:57:04 PM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

As a cool breeze hits the back of my neck, as the sound of cars go racing by
It's cloudy, the sun appears briefly from behind an overcast, as I sit thinking
How, how could this be?
I put back enough grain to make bread and plant for the next season,
Through the rain, snow, and sunny days, I nourished my drop daily
Through blood, sweat, and tears, I prayed, hoping things would get better,
But today, I sit and wonder how, how could this be?
I trust in my path, and the direction it leads me.
I honor and uplift my love, my family, my legacy.
I strive to be the best when the best is not excepted of me.
So tell me how, how could this be?
I'm bossy, yeah I know and down right mean at times
Got a mug so mean, my tongue lashing should be a crime
But deep inside, it hurts me more, some pains can't be denied
How, how could this be?
Maybe it's me, maybe I'm the one in the wrong place
Here take my shoes, endure the problems I face
Then you will find yourself in a similar time and space thinking....
How, how could this be.
