Call the AA

Like a car in a space that I can't negotiate
I sit and wait. Thinking my fate will change for the better.
the windscreen gets wetter....

...and I get cold.
I read your letter. The one that you posted through my door.

You put into words just how you were feeling
but I felt like you had tricked your self into believing
your feelings were the truth, when perhaps they were a response
to the fears of what you were likely to lose.

This situation escalated. We both took part
either could have ended it before we got here.
No one had the right to choose.
Now we've taken too many bites, both struck with might
we both lose. What a mess!

I don't have all the answers. My head is spinning
can't see a way out, no opportunity of winning
and I have my own responsibilities regarding the outcome
(I've got something to lose as well).
I tricked myself
An eagerly awaited puzzle....

... sent from hell.

My honest response, at least as far as I can tell.
Not sure it was a good idea.
things are swimmy, nothing is clear.
I hope we can get out of this?
I'm not sure any more.

Call the AA.

Very, very well written. Heartfelt and full of depth of character. A really relaxed style of writing.

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
