I ran for miles
through the deep wood
trying to find my way home
then i saw it and there i stood
looking in awe
at the sight before me
a waterfall high as the sequoia
and as untamed as the sea
i watched as the water fell
and splashed off the rocks bellow
surrounded by leaves and vines
and reflecting the sun lights glow
i listened as the birds
sang their song of bliss
and i felt the sensation
of the cool winds kiss
i looked out and saw a deer
drinking from the pool below the fall
his antlers large and his chest wide
he leaves as he hears his mate call
and off in the distance
i hear the chipmunks play
i sit and think to myself
this is the perfect day
i was lost when i arrived
as it was clear to see
but being here in the deep forest
theres nowhere else id want to be
