While I Shine Brightly

The Land Lies Forgotten,
Thrown Hither And Thither,
And yet my mind is alive
Not yet full of ashes.
The sun in the sky has forsaken the world,
But I am afresh,
Fighting and strong.
Fire and darkness
Cover the world,
But hark!
The angel's song sings clear for me.
Why have I won?
Defeated dismay,
Whilst also those around me
Still painful and grey.
I will tell you this tale,
This most fateful song,
Of why I gleam strong,
The world still faded.
It started with a word,
A most pitiful plea,
The world hung in balance,
Threatened by me.
But the scales had turned,
Weighted by truth,
The people were evil,
Deserved to be judged.
They had made their choice,
So I made mine.
The end was coming,
Brought on by their fate.
There was no deciding,
The prophets were gone,
A land lain in tatters,
My faith kept me strong.
So take heed of my words,
Keep them in heart,
The world may be hollow,
But our saviour is not.

Welcome to YPDC.
An old friend told me once that if I looked to the bible as history and to learn from I could understand it better. That works for me and it you said it
The world may be hollow,
But our saviour is not.
GReat writing.
