Clouds drifting in the sky
drowning in the unearthly light
of the stark-white moon
Casting sketched shadows
on bitter ground
The icy wind
That stirs the trees to life
Whispers inaudible warnings
feeds the fires of my core
brings the Hunger to the surface
I listen to the clamour of the night
It brings me stories
Of long ago battles
And present day struggles
Around me
a world so troubled with anger
so lost in its sorrows
That all else is forgotten
except by the night
