i've got no

Contributed by poeticjestix on Sunday, 20th March 2011 @ 05:38:37 AM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

I've got no class
'cause I like the styles in the shops that don't last
i've got no fear
'til threat meets, me then my eyes drop when it's near.
I've got no pride, 'til I'm really hurt, it tears out my insides
I've got no brass
perhaps that's the reason that I'm stuck with no lass

all i've got looks back at me
drunken reflection of what I could be
I kid myself that I'm in good health
both outside and in my mind...
disgusted by the lack of what I find.

I've got nice shoes
cost £100, now I've lost the blues
I've got new jeans
shirt and a shave and it shows that I'm keen
I've got no shame
I dance to the 80's soundtracks , they're engrained
I've got no choice
my potential suitor now? she ain't no Roll's Royce

and all i've got looks back at me
drunken reflection of what I could be
I kid myself that I'm in good health
both outside and in my mind...
disgusted by the lack of what I find.

I've got no shoes
ten pints and a kebab, what a thing to lose?
i've got no bed
lying on a birds sofa, peanuts on my head
i've got no time
was supposed to pick my kid up from his mums at half nine
I've got no fare
in a strange smelly house, it's a desperate lair..

and all i've got is because of me
a sober reflection, one more chance to be free
I see myself, I'm not in good health
especially in my mind...
Change is something i've got to find

but first, i'll borrow a bit of bus fare off the mantel piece.
she won't mind
sweet dreams my slightly overweight, used and abused angel

whoever you are.

Wonder which way the bus stop is

where's my shoes!

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
