Cornered in your conclave,
Slave to the rat race,
Chase the dream,
Clean and unwise,
Prize the next pay rise,
Bigger slice of green.
Trapped in clapped out suburbs,
Unnerved by futile words,absurd,
Fighting,waging war,
On those next door,
Always wanting more,
Always keeping score.
But you were born to this,
Unattainable bliss,
'cause in your eyes,
Selling lies,
Is their flaw,
Those next door.
Their naught but,
A capitalist whore.

Makes you sit up and think.
Are we not all caught up in something that we don't really wish to be, without even realising most of the time ?

Once again you have drawn the reader deep into your mind. You never disappoint and this is a particularly thought provoking piece, and by the way, I wish I had written this! Well done. |
