a blue that looks so black & white

Topic: happypoetry

I woke up in a puddle this evening

I thought I ***** myself again

but I only fell asleep with another lit cigarette

and my water-filled ashtray spilled over perfectly enough

to extinguish

the possibility of flames

and without disturbing my sleep at all

don't worry no ego's were harmed in the writing of this

now that i'm awake

I guess i'll finish my cigerette

I just got out of the shower

before my pen touched this paper

now i'm wearing black slacks

black socks

and have yet to decide on a shirt

feeling kinda blue I guess

across the floor of my almost empty apartment

(the one i've never actually moved in to)

I see a few blue dress shirts balled up against the wall

I should just walk over with my eyes closed

and grab ahold of one

***** That!

I've decided to blindly crawl instead

be right back..

Well, it took me seven steps

(if I can call them that)

to get across my small efficiency, norm deficiency

and somehow I managed to scrape my knee

against something sharp along the way

Oh well! it's only bleeding a little

and not through

Now i'm wearing a blue-collared shrit

it's wrinkled

but I don't care enough to change

I think

it probably earned it's wrinkles anyway

enough about that though

It's funny how I said earlier

"I'm feeling kinda blue"

because it's taken me until now

to notice

that's the color of ink

bleeding from the pen i'm using

yeah, i'm only using her

I know i've made the mistake

of calling her

mine

once or twice

but that doesn't matter either, really

because by the time you see this

if you do

it wont look

or feel

anything

like it does to me

right now

So i guess I probably should just stop writing

'cause now i'm all dressed up with someplace to go

but still no one beside me.
