I know I'm wrong but you're wrong too,
at least as far as I'm concerned.
For we can't service as if new.
Warranty lapsed, there's no return.
Attempts to converse are met with
accusations of the crime.
Wishing that I never gave
the thought of others any time.
The least expected. Total trust,
you witness errors easily.
The sheen I had has turned to rust,
I miss the times we screamed with glee.
For once a not so long ago
I hungered for you all the time.
These feelings tend to come and go
but love remains as if in prime.
We both do fret about our weight,
grey hairs and lines upon our face.
Age is more than just a date,
deep down I know I can't replace.
For there has never been a one
who compliments me as you do.
I'd crash and burn if you were gone.
Maybe you'd thrive with someone new?
For deep down that is my great fear,
that throughout all the years of toil.
I have taken something dear
and held it long enough to spoil.
I've robbed your beauty, joy and hope.
Your loyalty your greatest vice.
what did you see in this poor bloke?
Failure? You ought to have thought twice.
Do I deserve you? don't think so,
but you will tend to disagree.
In life I'm lost, no longer sure.
I don't share your great faith in me.
