Far away, in a distant foreign land
The night is dark, quiet stillness huddles in the air
Suddenly a whistle is heard coming from the sky
Passing the people by
An enormous, monstrous blast is heard
As to deafen the human ear
Homes are hit nearby
Plumes of smoke, amber fire
Flickering flames rise higher and higher
To spread their fear, destruction to all human souls
People scramble, panic, cry
Bodies, homes, ruin
A mother is crying, holding her dead baby in her arms
Bloody, deformed faces, mangled twisted arms,
Legs, eyes, heads scattered, thrown on the ground
The blood swirls, flows like a river of death
Chaos covers its hand with despair, shock of lives of many
Rocket fire like flares arise from the smoldering debris
Rising through the flames of destruction, killing many.
Return firing, retaliation never ending
The blast radiates throughout the land
Half of life annihilated
A metallic-like monster with a long-beaked tunnel nose
Moves, crawls with rubbery-like rolling wheels
Fire, smoke comes from the nozzle of death
Crater-like holes remain in its path
Mother, father, child, all homeless.
Their crying reaches out in a spirit of desperation,
Hopelessness
Blood, carnage rises as of a rotten smell
of death on the ground
Their spirits cry in horror of unnecessary battle.
Can you not look towards the dead bodies, lost lives?
Can you not see the innocent blood spilled,
flowing all around?
All in a smoke of nothingness.
Can’t we hear, heed their blood-stained remains of murder?
Is there no pity, no sympathy, no humanity?
Is power, foreign policy, Greed, Money,
military force more important?
When will we learn, understand our lesson?
How many more lives, carnage of human beings?
When will we learn from history’s past?
It’s all worthless, meaningless.
When will we learn from this brutal menace, from this
man-made killer?
