The voice

Contributed by Lonelyguy92 on Sunday, 20th February 2011 @ 03:06:37 PM in AEST
Topic: abstract

One night
I was in my room
I was doing my homework
I was about to be done soon
When suddenly all light faded away
It became dark
My vision became blurry
And my thoughts went astray

I heard someone talking to me
I could not make out who it was
It was dark and I couldn't see
The voice was familiar and yet so unknown to me
The voice became louder
As if it was coming out of my own mind
It was not a scary voice
It sounded so soft and kind

I asked
WHO IS THERE!
The voice answered back
Do not be alarmed
It is I!
The fallen angel
I felt a hand being placed on my shoulder
I felt my body getting warmer

I jumped up in shock
And shouted
WHO ARE YOU!
SHOW YOUR SELF!
The voice calmly said
Look into the mirror if you wish to know my identity
But be aware that who you might see
Might not be me

I got confused
I grabbed a mirror
And as I gazed in it
I just saw my own face.
The voice said
The one you see in the mirror is me.

I said
But I only see myself
The voice said look closely
And so I did.
I heard the voice again
I saw my lips move in the mirror
But I didn't say anything.

The voice said to me
I am the fallen angel
The one who lost his wings
I am temptation
I am evil
I come from a kingdom of fire
I come to you
To take your soul

I said
So you are the devil
The voice laughed
And said
My child
You have a creative mind
I am, do not ask who
Put down the mirror
Cause I
am
YOU!
