Memory of you

Contributed by StacyLynnG on Friday, 18th February 2011 @ 01:39:27 PM in AEST
Topic: LostLove

Longingly sighing under the willow tree
While rehashing a pleasant memory
An ever slight smile touches my lips
As I groom the sand with my fingertips

I marvel at how the smell of a lapsing wave
Can recapture the scent of your aftershave
Enshrined in my temple, a man that was appetible
Though our mutual fears we managed incompatable

Seaguls gather over a school in the sea
I reminisce about our connection of the highest degree
I ponder as I feed the duck the last of the crumbs
What could have been if our fears we hadn't succumb

The glow of the sun ardors my skin
Saddened by the want that lies within
Our intimate liason wasn't meant to endure
But our love will never pass, of that I am sure

So I pick myself up and brush off the sand
And walk to the waves as they crash on the land
I close my eyes and smile anew
And kinkly dismiss the vision of you

Very nicely written. The final paragraph is the key to the most important stage of moving on.

You have a lot of good imagery in this poem and it flows really well. I really liked reading it. Thank you for posting.

Fear is a very prominent factor when it comes to couples working out. It can definitely get in the way

Strong and full of great imagery. I love the rhyme and flow, very easy to read and very enjoyable.
