My shield, my friend

Topic: DarkPoetry

The pain inside is bottled up... Do I let it out or suck it down as wave after wave crashes down a pun me. I want to scream, I want to shout. To yell out, to free the voice inside me. To feel the rage escape me. The anger to be free, but the anger is my shield, my protector. If I let the anger out what will hold me up? What will keep me moving? No, without my anger and fear and self doubt I will fail to exist. My life will be void, void of feeling, thought, and life. So NO... I will not let go of my anger, my shield, my protector. It's the one thing I know... Like a friend that no one else like, but that gets you. Is there when everyone else has gone. It finds you at your lowest, when everyone else has abandoned you... Or maybe you have withdraw from them, but either way... It finds you, alone, sad, empty, longing. It enters you and wraps itself around your heart. To keep it save, it tell you. And it does, safe from the world, from everyone. Your only cost to be safe is love... Love from others, love for yourself, but you pay that cost... Any cost to protect yourself.
So there you sit, month after month, year after year, waiting, hoping, praying. Praying for that one person who can see you thru the shield, thru that wall of protection that you have built up around you. To find that small crack in the armor of your heart. To come and breathe life back into and bring you back to existence. To make you whole, complete, to help you find who you were and who you want to be. And then you find that person you were and life goes on again, until tragedy strike again and your friend finds you once more... So the never ending circle continues.

Really interesting write, but seems to lack poetic structure and diction.
