Reassurance

Contributed by The_unknown on Tuesday, 15th February 2011 @ 09:29:44 PM in AEST
Topic: hbadday

I say good morning
You say have a good day
And we part our ways

Well I'd be lying if I said
I didn't give a damn
Because you know I do
You really have got to know I do

What I want?
What I want is for you to share
Share your soul, share your thoughts
Share your day, share your life
What I want is for you to give a damn
Because you know I do
Yes, I really do

I don't want to pry
No, I don't want this to be a struggle
Not for you and not for me
Just share a little more
And I'll be fine
Because I'm left here in the dark
Sitting, questioning, wondering
Thinking to myself
Do I really know her?
Even though I know I do

I say goodnight
You say sleep tight
I love you
I love you, too
And we fall asleep
Separately

Well I'd be lying if I said
I didn't give a damn
Because you know I do
I really, really do

Reading this got me wondering how many times I and my loved ones use so many hackneyed words and phrases and never get down to really expressing our innermost feelings and the core of our being. Great!

I definitely feel ya on this one. I suppose some of the deepest thoughts/feelings are better left unexpressed...I've been doing that for a while, it hurts, but it's for the best, for me at least. Only the right time & judgment will bring things to light. I'm sure people do give a damn, but fear can do so much...

I really connected with your poem, it was just plain honest and heartfelt. That was the beauty of it...

take care

-K.Z.

Wow. Touching. To truly know someone you have to ask. I have communication probs too and this got to me a little.
