Friend or Foe

Contributed by HERO on Friday, 11th February 2011 @ 12:35:02 PM in AEST
Topic: ApologyPoetry

I’m laying here, alone today
Please hear me out; I need to say
That who I am right here and now
Hates who I was, I let you down
Now what you did was fair and just
I didn’t care and broke your trust
But when I needed you the most
You threw me underneath the bus

I needed time to think and heal
Cause’ life around seemed so surreal
I lived my life all in my head
But still I screamed till’ my face was red
I felt so hurt, just tossed aside
For me, just look me in the eyes
And tell me you don’t wish that we
Had handled those times differently

It took me years to figure out
That it was I who chose the route
The situation took but still
I made mountains out of molehills
I swear to you I’ve changed my ways
I just want to bring back the days
Of laughter, love, and kicking out the jams
And now that I can give I damn

I’ll treat you just as a friend should
I promise that my word is good
Just give me one last chance to show
That I’m a friend, and not a foe

it takes alot of strength and courage to apologize,. to own up to the fact that maybe it wasn't all someone elses fault, maybe, I was wrong, and i'm sorry. its hard to do, i know that well..

That is very heartfelt, and I don't know what you did, but if I were them, I would probably give you a second chance.

we always tend to realise what we want when it's too late to make a difference. I hope you get a second chance
