Florescent shades sparkle around me,
Illuminating the room like the glow of dawn.
Neon rainbows visibly vibrant; dancing before my eyes,
Inspiring my effervescent movement; overwhelming my soul.
Waves of heat consume lively bodies; we all move as one.
Music flowing through our veins, our minds;
Uncontrollably hypnotizing.
Fast and passionate,
We long for the everlasting song.
Beating hearts, rapid breath,
Aching for rest; the melody is our trance.
Yet night becomes day as a song becomes silent,
Brought back to life; reality seeping in.
Temporarily content, I await the nightlife,
Where I can be free once more.

dancing is very theraputic..i am not a good dancer, but this poem really hits home..because i'm that loser who comes home from work at night, turns on the radio, and dances around in the privacy of my home because it just makes me feel good to move my body to the melody..i can really see, and feel this poem. thanks for posting it. |

Being a horrible dancer it's hard for me to relate to the actual dancing part but I loved the imagery in your poem and I can relate to that because I've done a lot of watching.
Nicely done,
Thank you,
Tim
