For all the college girls

Topic: SadPoetry

This enclosed space doesn’t impress me
If anything it upsets me
I feel so alone at times
I’m not the average guy

I spend my time reading
I play anything I like on my violin
Beethoven, Bach, Vivaldi
Usher, Katy Perry, Tim Mcgraw

I still like my gym time though
A running track makes me happy
Im not the biggest guy there
But a 275 bench press speaks for itself I guess

Like it ever really matters
You can tell me it does but you’d be lying
This college really gets to me
Nobody seems to care

I bask in obscurity
No matter how hard I try
I’m nice to everybody
You’ve left me asking, why?

Maybe I should’ve taken that wrestling scholarship
I gave it up for my violin to join the symphony instead
Few seem to attend our concerts
They’re all hung over in their beds

All I have is hope I guess
If you would just give me a chance
I only want someone beside me
I’m not about getting in your pants

Let me take you to a movie
Or maybe out to eat
I’m alone and more than ready
Let me sweep you off your feet

But I doubt that’s my near future
You’re all too busy drinking beer
Off to fight, hookup, or party
More than happy to leave me here

"You’re all too busy drinking beer"

This is pretty much how I felt most of the time in University. It's not that I never drink, but really, drinking isn't as social as people think it is. It's more of a distraction so you don't have to meet the people you're partying with.
