The sea breeze caressing, I lean against a deserted boat,
I watch amusingly the Nature’s yet another slide show;
The blazing Sun disappearing below the western horizon,
Brushing the sky, with a few strokes of crimson red, and
Submerging into the sea, to cool off, after a hard day’s work.
A few catamarans, swaying precariously, drift towards the shore.
Kids shout excitedly, every time the waves break on the shore;
I survey thru’ my thick rimmed glass; come into my focus,
The boisterous gathering of youngsters having a playful time,
The young lovers amorously exposed at not-so-visible places.
At this very moment, I feel joyous exuberance all around.

“Hello, old man”, a loud voice stirred me from my slumber,
A cop is by my side starring at me inquisitively.
The cool sea breeze lulled me to sleep, I realize.
I get up, holding the extended arm of the beaming cop.
I see the beach deserted under the cover of creeping darkness,
A few flickering streetlights farther away beacon me;
Reverberated with sounds of jubilation moments ago,
Now it submitted to eerie silence, barring the unrelenting waves,
I move slowly dragging my sinking feet in the sand,
Obscure and repelling thoughts stray into my mind,
In the twilight of age, I see the ominous sign looming large;
Unawares the mortal hour will come any day to terminate,
The long and predestined journey of pleasure and pain;
And eventually destined I’ll be to travel to a place unknown;
Will the mysterious force fling me into a dreadful cell
Or usher me into a world of blissful ambience and lasting peace?
