Captured Horses

Contributed by iodinelove on Sunday, 6th February 2011 @ 03:54:41 PM in AEST
Topic: LovePoetry

My love, I dream of you, how your heart—wild and consumed by love—scatters your countenance across my flesh, how your lips spill into my mouth the depths of my own dreams.

The thirst I have for you is the deepest thirst I have ever known, I drink my fill of you, yet still I thirst.

In my dreams, your eyes are sunlight and shadow fallen equally close, first setting fire to the stars—they stretching blackness across staunch and brazen fields—then rambling silver over waters scorched and scarlet—they shattering spots of moonlight reluctant to shine.

Your hair is the down of snowy peaks—the erudite white of captured horses refusing to be broken—clinging to the blushes of auburn and autumn. Your lips are wind and trembling sand, an ocean of delight lost in the thoughts of my own desire.

I will my strength wither and fail that I might not awaken to the memory of your taste, that the absence of your lips might never again sting these lips.

My love, my deepest rose, you are the pale thorn of night, the morning left alone.
My heart settles at the rise of your voice, and at the silence of your sleep, forges the sound of an endless dream.

Yeah, what Room214 said. Think I'll throw in an amazing too.

A couple of times now, I have been reading some of the poems here to a friend over the phone because she doesn't have regular internet access. I'm absolutely sure she'll wanna hear this one.

"And the silence of your sleep, forges the sound of an endless dream."
