How many times did I confess my fear?
How often did I explain my stillness?
The sheer terror of exposing myself to you.
The panic of vulnerbility.
Yet, still you compelled me.
With warm words you assured me.
Coaxed me with the promise of understanding and patience.
Your lure I seized.
I mustered the courage and gathered my faith.
I placed my belief in you.
With your prompting, I stepped out.
Upon a hope, upon a desire, upon a dream.
Without warning or merit, you abandoned me.
Now I stand in a vacuum of confusion and regret.
Do you see why I hesitated?
