Should we really Dream?

Contributed by Anu on Monday, 31st January 2011 @ 11:24:00 PM in AEST
Topic: abstract

When dreams and dreaming was considered beautiful,
Every morning bestowed something new and thoughtful.

How often do we forget what we dreamt?
And then close our eyes to see how it ends..

We grew up to make some dreams come true,
And if it doesn’t, should we still continue?

When we were horrified we only had to open our eyes,
Would it be this simple in our real lives?

To belong to the one you always wished to,
Would it be nice if this dream comes true?

Life is not as easy as a dream,
I wonder which one is more serene..

Dreaming a new dream and forgetting the old,
Giving life a chance for new chapters to unfold;

Is murdering a dream considered a sin,
Should we really dream is a question I pin…!

What a great reminder of a world we were so participant in in our childhood and yet due to anxiety and distraction in the adult world we do not indulge in the escapism it can wonderfully bring or the ideas that can spring us forward if we allow ourselves to dream.Dreaming a new dream and forgetting the old,an inspirational nugget of wisdom to live by. Really enjoyed this well written.

Well written. This poem had a very good flow to it. A nice theme to write about. I felt a very existential undertone throughout the poem especially in this one:

"When we were horrified we only had to open our eyes,
Would it be this simple in our real lives?"

Well done.

Very nice... wish I could remember more of my dreams!
