I Wish It Wasn't So

I see him
and it kills me
knowing he doesn’t care
he says it’s not his fault
but it is
he says I’ll be okay
but I won’t
he thinks he knows
he doesn’t
he doesn’t know a thing
I wish he did
it might be easier
he’s all I think about
but I don’t even cross his mind
he’ll always be a part of me
but he’ll forget me in time
I want him to feel the same
but he never will
I wish it wasn’t so
he doesn’t seem to understand
what he’s done to me
what I’m going through
he only cares about himself
it’s selfish
to want so much from him
but I can’t help it
he’s a boy
and I’m a girl in love
for the first time
nothing matters but him
it’s so hard not to tell him
but he needs to fix this
not me
sooner rather than later
he’s all I think about
but I don’t even cross his mind
he’ll always be a part of me
but he’ll forget me in time
I want him to feel the same
but he never will
I wish it wasn’t so
I can’t stand the pain
but there’s nothing I can do
not now
not ever
nothing I say will change it
only he has that power
but he doesn’t know that
he doesn’t know anything
it’s so maddening
but I can do nothing
he’s all I think about
but I don’t even cross his mind
he’ll always be a part of me
but he’ll forget me in time
I want him to feel the same
but he never will
I wish it wasn’t so
but it is
and I can do nothing
