Competition is none
You’ll never catch me in any poetry comp.
I’m too good for that judging malarkey
How can poetry be judged?
I think it should only be enjoyed
Who are the Toffs to say I’m not number 1
Who is to say your work is poor?
I post for your pleasure not only praise
I write for your heart
I write to let your mouth smile
I have no competition
I am the Laureate of Liverpool
I am the banjosandwitch
I am creative and talented I need no medals or cheques
I only request you tell your friends
You’re reading my works is fulfilment for me
The competition is done

| Well done, well said. Like everything in life, there is always some so called expert eager to belittle and judge others. Poetry, like food or wine, is a personal thing and we all have different tastes. I must say this poem is well constructed and very well written. Keep them coming. |
