Sunset Hill

The sun is slowly fading away
Beyond the hilltops and the day.
A plane is heading for sunnier climes
And in vacant fields and kindling tops a soft wind chimes.
Together and alone we walk,
Minds in tune, no need to talk.
Arm in arm our shadows stroll along the path
That will take us back to a fire blazing in the hearth.
There on the crest of sunset hill
The sky is ablaze but winter still
Provides the land with the ultimate test,
This is the time of day we love best.
And as our shadow's lengthen the moon has come
To bid farewell to the setting sun.
Somewhere beyond the fields and the kindling tops
The stars are gathering and the fire stops.

As I'm sure you know by now I love your writing.I'm sitting here with three noisy children, but for a minute or two they faded away as your beautiful writing transported me once more.

Minds in tune no need to talk........unity and completion, reflected in Nature's mirror through Dennis's eyes,So much warmth of heart expressed, and depth of love, always a pleasure to see the world through your eyes. |
