Shards of Glass

Contributed by irisblue on Sunday, 23rd January 2011 @ 02:11:24 PM in AEST
Topic: anguished

All that I felt for you, the love , the admiration in my heart
now lay in shards of glass reflecting tears of pain on the floor.
Every breath, every sweet thought, anticipation to be with you is
now no more.
I loved you with every fiber of my being
My heart was open for you to have and to hold,
Now as I look back, what was once hidden I am now seeing.
Why can't you see deep into my eyes of pale blue?
A cascading flow of beauty and love that was raw, electric and true.
If only you looked deeper you would have seen, a child like awe, a heart
and a soul with compassion for any hurt beings.
I feel sad for you, that you won't see me grow into the woman my sweet God already knows.
My faults, as you say, may be many, but I have the courage to change and you will miss out on the
miracle I became.

I will always love you, D, and wish you the best.......

There is soooooo much I could say...I want to say, but may it's not time appropriate so I'll just comment on the poem itself.

Goodness, that first line just reaches out and grabs the reader (which would be me in this case) and screams the power of love and the hurt it can sometimes bring. Great metaphor.

Then you build into saying, hey I'm strong and really, ya' know, it is his loss.

One mans' trash is another man's treasure.

Love,

Teim
cool dude

The ability to rise above a tragedy and make a brighter future is the best gift a person can ever give themselves. Such a beautiful ending. Thanks for sharing this one..... Vic

You have a wonderful talent for capturing emotion. I don't know you, but feel like I do a little bit.

I very much enjoy your writing; please keep 'em coming!

Your friend,

Invierno
