The Movement

Contributed by euphoema on Wednesday, 19th January 2011 @ 08:54:16 PM in AEST
Topic: political

They move in unison
sound and march
Turbulent towards the wall that oppresses
To turn off the evil that remains on.

The face of the mob worn
tired of the game played
paper documents used as if wriitten by God
Forefathers, history makes them. what about the pages torn?

Why must we follow what was written centuries ago
people slaying over boundaries
over ages old worries
this is the present, isn't it forward we must go

nothing can be done is the motto
due to this policy and that policy
but over seas when something is desired
bravo, bravo, screams the victor of war as if they won the lotto

television shows our heroes being harassed
i wonder what the sun and moon would tell
if words they could speak
theres various sides, not just what happens on our grass

one sided, one sided, but their are many views
remain patriotic and stick to the red, white, and blue
because it isn't you that lost a kin
it was probably a mexican or even a jew

world change can take place
from within it must come
as the righteous unite and march, march, march
this world we shall live as one human race

trouble is. Everyone of an opinion sees themselves as righteous! If you want to march for the human race as a whole then you can't do it under the banner of one nation. No matter how much you see it's values as being all encompassing. Tends to be seen as an invasion, or crusade.
It is good to see someone questioning values drummed into them from childhood and seeing the duplicity of it all. However, America is such a big place and has grown used to it's great wealth. Power has brought an arrogant belief that exploitation of other weaker nations in the name of freedom is valid. I fear that for most of you, the world is America.
China and Russia are on the rise. They have more influence and haven't urinated their money against a wall as their communist past has left them some way behind in consumerism.
It's an honest write. Fear of turmoil still an undercurrent in USA I see. Civil war wasn't that long ago.

Excellent Poem! Well written and the message is great and it is true. I particularly liked the following lines:

"Forefathers, history makes them. what about the pages torn?"

History is written by victors. So we will never really know what happend. A great line.

"i wonder what the sun and moon would tell
if words they could speak
theres various sides"

Another very imaginative and figurative way to express the truth. It seems we all are very one sided and narrow in our approach. We need synthesis and integration. You are absolutely right in saying that the change can only come from within.

Good job!
