Mental health
requires stealth
Rest of your life on a broken shelf.
who'd want to live with a broken self?
No matter if poor or with great wealth.
Professionals try,
they're trained to lie.
They're here to repair a broken guy.
Help to repair his broken ties.
Do it through taught insincere eyes.
Medication
restores your station.
unwanted thought type filtration,
deep set control of my elation.
I disappear in the calculation.
Drugs and beer
they give great cheer.
Frighten those sane types who come near
but in a strange way make things clear.
Remove my memories, help me steer.
Society's trance
no time to dance.
Strike those different with a lance.
Strangeness is never given a chance.
shouldn't run round in their underpants.
can there be a second glance?

Really good write, lot of truth to it,I really did 'laugh out loud' at the penultimate line. A serious point is sometimes best got across with a bit of humour.

This is a deadly serious subject that you deal with so well, deep and probing but ultimately done in a humorous way. Well done. |
