When we met, my heart was full of words
My mouth refused to say
We spent those ours with each other
And you were mine anyway
During the time we were together
I longed to wax poetic
I'd sit and write and scheme and rhyme
But only waxed pathetic
For my exes I've written poems
At least a verse or two
I loved you more than any other
And yet not a line for you
As our love grew, so my heart thought
I knew you were the one
I'd be with you forever
But now our forever's done
I wanted to tell you i loved you
In a sappy little rhyme
But now that words flow freely
It's the right place, but the wrong time.
I thought ours a love so beautiful
And that it would never die
How ironic that my first poem to you
Is the one to say goodbye

Loved it! It's both sad and beautiful at the same time. I also know the feeling of wanting to write but not being able to. |
