~ * ~

Your smile trembles in cautious ambivalence
desperate to be known..
Eyes that laugh, dance upon me like rays on water
with a sparkle, rare in its mastery

Freedom steals a kiss from enchantment
embracing a forgotten song

Moments melt together in perfect collision
as firefly light glows in embers
warm enough to hold the night ~

I like the abstract feel you've given to the poem...

"Moments melt together in perfect collision"

This is a greAT line. beaUtifully described and well written.

Don't know what to say that I haven't already said hundreds of times before (probably literally). Have always loved your poems and always will.

Admittedly, I don't really understand it but I don't always care about that. It takes my mind on a ride and I like to go for rides; metaphorically and for real.

Thank you.

These days I go searching for what it is that divides the poet from the prosaic, because all I can tell is that some writing feels emotional, breathless, while others sound monotone and gray.

One line in and I could already hear you pouring yourself onto the page. This brought a smile to my day, and I thank you.

'Eyes that laugh, dance upon me like rays on water'
Poetry that flows like a stream. I love the combination of words and similies you've used. It's the kind of poem I would like to read over and over again and each time a different sense added.

Hi Breezy,

Poetry is the music and the pulse of sensibility.
This short beautiful piece confirms it.

Everything about this inspires me, even your author comment. Your poetic melody touches down and dances softly with each line, and each carefully chosen word. Roxie I love this. You have such a gift with words and expressing all things beautiful.

People like YOU inspire ME. True story, and I will keep re-visiting your page for those very reasons.
