I know you're moving on to better days,
I'm so happy you've changed your ways,
Ways that changed you outside and in,
Ways against which you managed to win.

I wanted to save you, that's all i could think,
But all I could do was watch you sink.
I saw you change, from the things you would do,
Because those drugs were never good for you.

Now months later, I see you again,
Good to see colour back in your skin,
Full of life once drained from you,
Back to the person I first knew.

But along the line, I fell away,
Not speaking to you for months and days,
I marked a cross against your name,
I was too proud to take the blame.

I pointed my finger every which way,
Hoping it would make things okay,
Against my friends, I turned my back,
But still it never changed the facts.

I'm sorry you were one of those friends,
I promise I'll never do it again.
Another thing which i know is true
Is i never regretted being with you.

I feel more for you than I did for them,
Because you are a special friend.
You make me happier than they ever could -
That's something they never understood.

Sometimes I wonder how life would be
If i never met you and you never met me.
I only wish the best for you,
To find someone who cares as much as I do.

If you gave me your heart, I'd keep it safe,
Making sure it would never break.
Nor would you have a broken soul,
Be sheltered from the bitter cold.

Now these days are all the same,
My love for you, a growing flame,
And now these flames will reach the sky,
A guiding light 4 U & I.
