Are we all victims of our own circumstances?
Stumbling through life encountering various romances
Until one fateful day destiny holds open the door
Before you know it you're free falling rapidly toward the floor
When you finally meet your match it hits you hard in the heart
Feeling safe in the sentiment that you're never meant to part
You fit together like a pair of comfy shoes
Being there for each other to chase away the blues
Through the good times, the bad and sometimes even worse
Enduring the heartaches never captured in any verse
You envisage yourself growing old right by their side
And even being together when you cross the great divide
To me the words I write are my reflection on true love
On how it's meant to be if you're blessed from up above
You should honour it, treasure it and cherish it for all time
For when you find your love it will truly be divine

Easy to read, creating a balanced and colored picture in the readers head of the emotions you you attempt to transcend.
nicely written, with good choice of words to compliment your meaning.
( not much else to be said other then perhaps trying a few variances in presentation. Like verse structure. and stanza. aka rhyme every line v every 2nd line or perhaps only the last line of each stanza! This could challenge your thoughts and enrich your poetry)
Everyone has their own style. exploring new ones can be a challenge and lots of fun too.
Regards
Peter |
