death be only true

Contributed by Wilde on Thursday, 30th December 2010 @ 09:32:12 AM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

Toublesome hearts push away the day
and bring with them the saddest grey
I call onto my black crow
does help my burden grow
six feet of ground pushes into me
mournful eyes do not allow I to see
the grave be my only true home
for the quiet night is where I do roame
burnt lost trees with smoke in the air
death does follow to touch my face so fare
no deal does stop death from finding my soul
long left cold body and face full of coal
my heart shall never repent as night is forever here
my days where wasted as I see the end is near
nails and hands black with many a ink
I may be dead if I where to blink
I forget no love no mistress no friend
as here I see the greatest end
smells of grey heartfelt fear
my hallow day is forever near
ravens and crows prepare to feast
as near dead I am an approaching beast
why my death be filled with mourn
it be a signed contract we have since born
no mother no father sighs when dead
for clearly deaths contract was read
I shall walk through roses vine
for just to smell my heaven pine
grey hairs to asert death does knock
and here I be with eyes fixed on clock
I have no shallow fears or contemt for death
for life was a song and hear I draw my final breath
be life a play or book closing chapter or curtain close
I will face you with brave and strong pose
I be not sick I be not weak when I die
for all those left now who weep to cry
for those are not mournful tears but tears of fear
unstopable is death to take our souls
he lives to see us in ash or holes
be not sad troublesome hearts
let no tear fall when love parts
for soon we all lie dead in cold ground
and there we shall hear no weeping sound

I like this line, it shows pride in strength. There is too much fear of death in the world. Death is an old friend come to greet you. Not a monster. Great poem!

Like your work, keep it up. Great topic to write about as well.
