NEITHER EVER DIES

Me & my brother ~ Used to play around,
One gun after another ~ Just don't make a sound,
Mama didn't seem to care ~ Dad always said don't touch,
How precious are your prayers ~ Or how mad is your love,
Life is always here,
& then it's gone,
Nothing is nice about these tears,
Especially when the end is so long,
~
I remember when mama always said ~ Why don't you go outside & play,
The TV was playing in her head ~ As everything else started to fade,
My little brother had a toy ~ But my gun was a little to real,
Every shot was to bring us joy ~ If this is fun how should I feel,
Black lightning flashed all around,
I wish it was all make believe,
I wasn't supposed to make a sound,
Instead a fallen rose shattered a dream,
~
Daddy finally got rid of his guns ~ & mama can't stand the TV,
I lost a brother & my parents a son ~ & from the inside I bleed,
Just think the next time we play ~ We'll both be underground,
Please forgive me for our love will never fade ~ & I promise to not make a sound,
Even heaven has its thorns,
But angels still fly,
When one is born.....
NEITHER EVER DIES !
