soldiers wife

Contributed by blondie_64865 on Tuesday, 22nd April 2003 @ 09:35:00 AM in AEST
Topic: FamilyPoems

These are emotions and thoughts that sit on a military's spouse's heart day by day as their soldier serves their country. We feel a sense of pride as we know that our spouse is fighting for something that is worth more than any gold or silver. That they are willing to do what millions of us would never dream of going thru in a million years.

We also feel a sense of anger to know that sometimes they are fighting or having to support something that is going to have a bad ending. Even then we listen to people sit here and down these soldiers for what they are doing. These soldiers stand for something else, they stand for love, freedom and safety for America. That we may be able to lay our heads down at night and know that tomorrow will come. We also feel a sense of loneliness as our soldiers walk out the doors of our homes to go across seas and not knowing when they are going to return home. There are so many thoughts and emotions the military spouse's have, to experience that even words cannot bring light.

One thing we should always know as an American and a spouse, these men do this for everyone especially their loved ones and no one or any one can ever take that away. So let's give these men and women a big HOORAY! Lets show them, even if we aren't to fond of what is going on now, that we support them for protecting our everyday rights that we enjoy so much. GOD BLESS AMERICA AND OUR SOLDIERS!

This is beautiful and a wonderful tribute. I wrote a poem for my friend Julie who is also a military wife. These words are all so true. God Bless you and your family. I'll pray for safe returns with you.

Bless you for standing beside your husband and your country. This is a beautiful poem dedicated to the faithful families that stand in the gap. I pray that your husband will be returned home to you safely. And all others as well. Blessings and love, Dot
