I am a work in progress
I have desires unfit for common men
I have placed myself as if a Lord
Yet rule my life to no avail
I am a wretch but more a fool
Laying waste to mine own house
Dear I seek the Master’s hand
Dear I hope for a Redeemer
May an unbeliever call His Name
Will He hear the cry of a doubting heart
Can a skeptic’s prayers float above rafter
Should I stay my unworthy tongue
Still I must beseech the Master Forger
May His bellows crack the fires to a roar
Then beat and fashion this broken form
A noble son to serve his Sovereign Lord

"May an unbeliever call His Name
Will He hear the cry of a doubting heart"
That was a great line...kinda summed it up for me. The difficulty of faith in an age of science. Great poem. I can relate fully. |
