contentment makes me fatter

The sun it shines on me and you no matter where we are.
As long as it is shining then we'll never be apart.
The stars and moon, they look on us when we are not in sun
and every night I'll look on them as if we were as one.
There are too many suns and stars to make your silence matter
whilst we get older, solitude can only make us fatter.
but i know that what we had must mean something to you
and if it did then please don't kid and tell me that it;s true.
But maybe you have met someone who'd burn our love away
like clouds that haunt a summer sky on a stormy day.
Well if that's true, I'm glad for you cause I know I wont matter
and in contentment you will thrive, if only to get fatter.

I especially like the beginning, it is actually kinda beautiful until the middle of the poem lol where it turns to humor. Good poem though! |
