Parts of your soul… they flit, the swirl,
Some glisten like a golden pearl,
While others of a pitch black hue,
Try hard to rip your soul in two,
Clashing, gliding, the two combine,
And merge into your complex mind,
Without both… our world is gone,
With our hope, the dark belongs,
A balance since the start of time,
The darkness holding back the shine,
Of light so brash it scours the soul,
Without the dark to make you whole,
Souls consumed by light…they burn,
Swallowed by the dark… they churn,
A soul too dark... defiles the light,
A light too strong…corrupts the night,
A struggle since our time began,
Perfect balance… his secret plan.
