The Self Inflicted Block

Contributed by deusdeira on Sunday, 19th December 2010 @ 09:23:09 PM in AEST
Topic: poets

Is it really so hard to find a good rhyme?
And make profound statements within every line?

If you look inside your complex mind,
There is surplus talent, just let it unwind,

Let go of your focus… let your thoughts flow,
It isn’t a game, or an elaborate show,

The mind isn’t a trap, hiding your thoughts,
It isn’t a beast, that needs to be fought,

Let go of control, and set your mind free,
Just run with the current, and find creativity.

The block will degrade, a river erodes it,
A river of thought, your mind does emit,

Look to the sky, and to the blue sea,
Think of the things… that will never be,

Then pick up your pen, creation does come,
Be one with the river, and you won't come undone.

Good inspiration for those unfortunate moments without words. Especially liked how the last line tied it all together. Well done.

So true,I find the best writing just flows straight from the mind and as soon as you try and force it it all falls apart.
Good flow to this write and I hope anyone who's struggling will read this and be inspired.

I think it's easier for some than others. Sometimes writer's block is almost like an illness...hard to over come. This was nicely stated, though, and had a very even flow.

Thanks for posting,

Tim
