It never happens that way,
Once more I try,
I'm in control I won't cry,
That's in the past,
If this don't last,
I'll be fine,
I won't pine,
But it's hard to grasp,
That bitter rasp,
Of loss and denial,
A hopeless spiral,
The descent of the soul,
To that empty hole,
Of your fated circumstance,
Just give thanks,
And take your medicine,
'cos this is the end of things.
