Life

Topic: Lifepoems

We search to find completion
We love for what we’re worth
We’re buried with our tombstones
And we all end up as dirt

What happens in between
Is what you must decide
Will you struggle for an answer?
Is there nothing more inside?

Is this all the world holds for us?
To live and then to die?
Will someone ever love me?
Or am I simply left to cry?

And if for a lifetime I had loved you?
How would it matter still?
For a countless many loved before us
And a countless more yet still

Yet I denounce what many laugh at
There’s more that lies beyond
I see an artist’s work of beauty
In that face I gaze upon

I see a smile that’s warm as sunshine
I see the purpose in your eyes
I feel an arms embrace around me
And on my shoulder where you’ve cried

Not for a moment can you tell me
That this is all I feel
For every time I think about you
I know that heaven’s real
